David Batley (Freelance Forum President) was at the Braves opening day game, April 5, shooting a pre-game event. He stayed on for the game, and got a shot of Jason Heyward, the brand new Brave, hitting a three-run homer his first time up in the major leagues. He was seated in the upper level, right field corner, three rows from the top of the stadium. Using a zoom lens, David captured the action just as he hit the home run.

The baseball is "stopped" in the photo as it left his bat--about 10 feet in front of him (about head high). The ball sailed out an estimated 446 feet to the Braves bull pen.
The Braves went on to beat the Cubs in this home opener, 16 to 5.
