Description: The Internal Communications Coordinator contributes to employee education, retention, and engagement by developing and coordinating internal communication efforts with the goal of enhancing understanding of key messages and goals that may involve using, managing, and developing electronic media, in particular the Company's intranet, to deliver key messages and information to employees. This position interacts with department directors and managers, front line employees, System leaders, and other staff to ensure that these efforts are done in an organized, effective, and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with Manager to plan, develop, produce and measure Careforce Chronicle.
2. Develop editorial schedules, write stories, assign stories to freelance writers, edit copy, manager photography and manage the design and production process.
3. Develops and facilitates relationships with key internal contacts to identify deficiencies and explore new opportunities on an ongoing basis.
4. Support our System-wide internal communications strategy by helping deliver key messages at Children's locations via postings, meeting, presentations and electronic media.
5. Assist in identifying new communication opportunities and develops appropriate messages and vehicles.
6. Manage and approve communications sent to employees at our corporate offices.
7. Serves as a resource and consultant to individual departments to review their communication methods, styles, and messages.
8. Assist in the development of communication tools such as speeches, talking points, System letters and memos, internal presentations, and other communication projects.
9. Collaborates with Internal Communications staff to coordinate messaging.
10. Maintains awareness of and proficiency in current trends and practices in employee communications.
11. Conducts ongoing communication audits to evaluate effectiveness, receptivity, and recall of current communication methods, and takes appropriate action as necessary based on the audit results.
12. Support the Director, Internal Communications on special projects, including creating and managing department-related promotions, tracking projects and developing reports, managing special projects, administrative talks supporting department efforts and managing a schedule of activities related to our national preeminence efforts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
· Two (2) - Five (5) years experience in corporate communications, public relations, or employee communications/relations.
· Demonstrated experiences working with diverse employee groups, writing for a variety of different audiences, and knowledge of basic internal communication strategies.
· Demonstrated writing and editing skills, specifically analytical and creative experience necessary to address targeted messages to a variety of audiences.
· Demonstrated verbal communication skills, including communicating with others and speaking in public, listening effectively, interviewing and gathering information from sources at all levels in the System, and working with varying levels of staff.
· Demonstrated experience working under pressure and managing multiple projects at once, specifically flexibility and adaptability to unexpected changes, and demonstrated experience in developing and meeting or exceeding deadlines.
· Valid Georgia State driver's license and personal transportation (automobile) in good working condition.
