Per-Se Technologies wanted to create a secure, self-service web site where patients could go anytime, anywhere to view the most up-to-date information about their accounts with their healthcare providers (Per-Se’s clients). It assigned Barbara Wilkes of Wilkes Communications to work directly with an in-house development team of IT personnel, web masters and designers. The site is the industry’s first patient portal — and has been applauded for helping bring together patients, healthcare providers and payers.
